What happened to Spring this year?

It is May and still cold in the bay area today. I found myself actually running with my hat and gloves today at 6 am. It seems like mother nature is flirting this year. Is it spring or is it winter? Somehow she is undecided. It has been - litrally - blow hot blow cold till now.

Everytime i run around Alameda De Las Pulgas, i realize how fortunate we are that California has protected much of its land from development. As i was running it suddenly dawned upon me that i was within 2 miles of a thriving busy city and right now all i can hear is the crackling of the dry leaves as they give way beneath the thump of my foot as i run. Today is those rare days when i am running without any running partners and it so happend that i see no runners within visible distance.

There is something comforting to listen to the silence punctuated from time to time with the sounds of nature. The atmosphere is prestine and there is abundance of green as the full force of the Summer has still escaped us. I return tired but happy. Counting my gratitude and blessing. AAAAh life is good.

Life Sciences Business in India- The Next Steps

It was Saturday January 12, 2008 and we met at The Westin Hotel at San Francisco Airport, Millbrae, CA. The conference was hosted by EPPIC (Enterprizing pharmaceutical professionals of Indian Subcontinent). There were some REALLY smart people there and i certainly enjoyed the event. The discussions were generally around the outsourcing into India. The Clinical Trials, the Venture Community, the IP position.

My particular contribution was on a panel discussion regarding. Patent/IP/Compliance. The presentation was largely supporting my experience of GMP audits in India. What works and does not work in terms compliance.

THE DIA CONFERENCE

OK, so admittedly i have procrastinated for a while. I am hoping to post a few blogs periodically albeit restrospectively speaking. I was swamped with projects. I have run all of 20 miles in 3 months. Pathetic!!

But in December i was in Mmbai at a DIA Conference and i had the previledge of presenting on Orphan Drug and Unmet medical need and what US has done for these diseases and what is my request for India -DCG's office to fullfil their obligations.

All in all - a very rewarding experience. I met some very bright minds. Wonderful drug development effort. India is so Euphoric of the work thus far and very optimistic of the future.
