Looongest 6 miles ever

Today i got lost while running in Irvine, California. After finishing work with clients, i ran around Yale Loop and sometime at 55 minutes i got lost. So, i found myself out of Yale Loop around the lake onto the main street Barrancca and had to find my car which was parked at Walnut and Yale. Instead of running 3 to 3.5 i found that i had to run 6 miles to find my car!

I will see how i feel tomorrow and let you know.

June 19 - 3 mile and hot sun

One should avoid the mid day run. This is what i learnt today. I had to run 3 miles as my weekday requirement. I am possibly not making it to track training today. So, i thought i should get in an extra 3 miles istead. I started at noon! A very bad idea. I now know why at 6:30 am my body feels a lot more agreeable with my intension.

Coach Char has introduced me to a new concept. Heart Rate Reserve (HRR) and he sent me some info about running at HRR and how you are more efficient at burning fat as well as carbohydrates. Yes, i do need to shed my mid rift. I will write more about this later. I first need to understand all that he sent me. GO FIGURE!! And i thought i was the Biochemist and he was the Accountant :)

Cross Training with Dance

June 17th

Today we sold tickets to "Dhun". A Bollywood live band Jigary played songs from the 80s and 90s and more recent releases. It was a fund night. No diet control, we ate Samosas (the forbiddened fried food), ate jaleebis. Of course the point was raising funds, but we were too busy cross training with dancing to Bollywood Music to notice the primary reason ;) ;)

After 3 hours of non stop dancing we officially ended the night by calling this our official cross training. Coach Fong i am sure you don approach of EVERYTHING, but i am sure you are OK with it for now.

Mile 5!

Today was a clear day. Woke up at 5 am. Checked email while eating my oatmeal/flaxseed cereal. Carpooled with buddies from Oracle and welt to Los Gatos.

7 am warm up and streches.
7:45 hit the trails. Ran easy as this was my first 5 miler. Water stops at every 1.5 mile or so. I decided not to wear a water belt. Extra weight vs. finishing the distance.

Clocked in at 0:53:52

Started stretches
kneck, shoulder, chest, waist, calf, ITB, shins.

Then comes......

The strenght training 5 push ups, break 10 push ups.
25 stomach crnches
20 lunges
